First Indian agricultural university offers courses without qualification and age barrier

India’s first and only private open agriculture university, Arvind Agricultural (Open and Virtual) University was commenced in January 2013. Presently, it is offering courses to farmers without any age bar and specific qualification restriction.
The syllabus and curriculum of the courses are completely different from other universities and are also innovative. Arvind Agricultural (Open and Virtual) University is conducting classes on out-demonstration farms near Nagpur and receiving a good response for same.
The university is all set to use high technology involving experts of several agro-produce across the world to share their experiences and also teach the farmers directly in the virtual classrooms.
The university will tie up with various other leading agricultural universities for transfer of knowledge and visiting fields.
One of the basic bottlenecks in agriculture is marketing, which will now be addressed by the university. The varsity has started marketing by exporting around 700 tons of mangoes from western Maharashtra in this summer. Now, they are planning to help the Vidarbha farmers by exporting vegetables from that region. The varsity is also growing vegetables as a pilot project in a field at Wadvihira in Katol, a rural region of Nagpur, for demonstration and even planning to export around 500 tons of vegetables.
Arvind University has also aimed a paradigm shift in farm education by offering tailor-made courses. For this, they have planed around 50 courses, which will consist of a daylong workshop as well as 4-year Ratna without any age bar or qualification.

Karnataka CET matrix out, trauma for students goes on

On Tuesday, July 2, Karnataka Government has finally released the CET seat matrix for medical and engineering seats. The online option entry was started by 11 pm on the same day in a desperate bid to calm the students. Though the department was hosting the seat matrix on its official site on Tuesday, July 2, late in night, many students by then had already reached the Comed-K counseling center putting around Rs. 3.5 lakh at stake.
After reaching the counseling center, the trauma for the students commenced. Students were unable to confirm their seats since the officials required their second-year PU marks cards, which has still not issued by the department.
As per Comed-K guidelines, students have to produce their original certificate in order to get a confirmed seat. Since the PU department has not yet provided the original marks cards to the students, they have to be satisfied with a provisional seat.
As per sources, students will get their marks cards after another 7 to 10 days. As per a department official, the Results came just a week ago and they did not print the marks until the marks were finalized. This is the usual procedure and the process of issuing marks cards in underway.

Parents and students in a dilemma with beginning of Comed-K seat selection and seat matrix announced by CET
Usually, Comed-K counseling takes place after the CET seat selection process in order to give students the opportunity to choose government seats before moving to the costlier private management seats. But, this year counseling for Comed-K held before the CET seat matrix and the PU marks cards. This led students in a state of dilemma.
Comed-K on the other hand, has started its counseling as per schedule. However, the government was not ready with the seat matrix this year.
Since, the CET option entry began at late Tuesday night; both will run in parallel manner now. The first allotment for CET seats will be Wednesday, July 10, which will leave students in a tough situation to decide their future.
NEET counseling on the other hand is still pending. On Tuesday, July 2, AIIMSResults were declared and candidates had already reached NMKRV College for Women for the Comedk counseling.
Students and their parents now have put Rs. 3.5% lakh in stake. Many had already confirmed the seats not wanting to take risk of losing a hard earned medical seat, while many hope that the picture will be clearer by next 10 days.
Both students and their parents are in a dilemma presently whether to wait for a seat for lesser fee or to grab a seat available. Comed-K seat selection process witnessed many anxious candidates gathering at the NMKRV College for Women on Tuesday, July 2. When students were queuing for the Comed-K counseling process, the CET seat matrix was not yet declared. They were completely unaware about their scores in the AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) exams, Results of which were declared just in the nick of time. Though NEET (National Eligibility *** Entrance Test), which is a newly introduced single entrance test, Results were declared but the counseling dates for the same are still unclear.
Comed-K is the last preference for all students due to its hefty fee of around Rs. 3.5 lakh. However, if students surrender their Comed-K seats by Saturday, July 13, then they will get back the whole amount except Rs. 5,000. But many students believe that picture will remain unclear even after 10 days. Thus, their money is at stake right now. Students are presently in a very tricky situation.

Top 10 Best Universities of India 2013

Nielsen Company and India Today conducted a successive survey to find out the top universities in India under the Science, Commerce and Arts streams.
