Global financial market course to be launched by BSE Institute

MUMBAI: There's some good news for students who are interested in studying the global financial markets with hands-on experience at the stock exchange.

BSE Institute Limited has announced the commencement of a post graduate programme in global financial markets (PGP-GFM). The programme will help students learn fundamentals of the global financial markets by participating in various events that will enrich their learning experience.

The programme will address the dearth of formally trained human resources in the BFSI sector. Ambarish Datta, MD and CEO, of the institute, said, "The markets and institutions operating in the global financial markets have, in recent years, undergone significant changes. Everything we know about financial systems points to continued globalisation and interdependence. With that comes the near certainty that a systemic crisis in one major market will cause severe consequences in other markets. This has resulted in the emergence of a new breed of global financial market professionals. This program has been designed to groom such professionals and includes classroom sessions by market professionals and study visits to Asian and European financial markets."

The programme also incorporates seminars and workshops to inform students about the careers in global financial markets. Spread across four semesters and comprising of 20 modules, PGP - GFM is a two-year full-time autonomous postgraduate programme. BSE Institute will conduct a written entrance test on March 31, 2013 in all the major metros across India for admissions.
