Punjab govt to educate primary schools students through radio

In a move to improve the quality of education in the state, Punjab has decided to start “Radio Classrooms” in all state-sponsored primary schools from Thursday, December 20, 2012.
This new initiative, under the governments “Parvesh Project”, will educate students through a short 20 minute program, broadcasted on a daily basis. The programs will focus on selected subjects and educate students through simple and interesting methods.
The program will be broadcasted daily between 2:30 pm to 2:50, through state wide radio channels like FM Jalandhar and FM Rainbow and local radio stations in Bathinda and Patiala.
The Government of Punjab is committed to raising the levels of education in the state, specifically primary education, through different modes of communication, in order to garner the interest of these children and educate them at the same time.
