DU colleges relax cutoff for girls by 3%


The competition for admission at DU (Delhi University) is getting tougher day by day. The female students can however, rejoice now as the DU website published additional eligibility criteria on Saturday, June 22. As per this criteria some colleges have relaxed the cut offs for girls.
Colleges such as, Swami Shraddhanand , Rajdhani, Deen Dayal Upadhaya, Dyal Singh and Bhim Rao Ambedkar have relaxed the cutoff marks for girls by nearly 3%. Female candidates, applying for various courses under DU’s FYUP (four-year undergraduate program) can avail this benefit. In addition, colleges such as Shivaji and Dyal Singh (evening) are granting a relaxation of around 5% for girls.
This initiative has been taken to improve the percentage of girls in the total intake of students taking admission in Delhi University. The effort mainly emphasizes on promoting girl education.
From this academic year, DU is commencing its new FYUP. All students whether pursuing vocational education or pure academic disciplines will be required to study 11 foundation courses in the first 2 years.
