Students appearing for NEET,
2013 (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance-Test) students have one less
thing to worry about. From Saturday, December 1, 2012, these students
will be assisted with their applications at seven facilitation centers
at 7 different schools in Odisha.
These centers provide assistance for any confusion that applicants
have regarding the procedure. Applicants are encouraged to walk-in to
clear their doubts. The centers will remain open till Monday December
31, 2012. The centers are located at DPS Rourkela, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sunabeda, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Mayurbhanj, DAV Chandrasekharpur, DAV Jharsugudaand DAV at NTPC Talcher.
The private dental and medical colleges in Odisha, which had separate
entrance examinations from government colleges, will now admit students
who clear the common NEET exam, as per the NEET 2013. The test will be
held at Koraput, Bhubaneswar and Rourkela.
Three government-run colleges in Berhampur, Burla and Cuttack,
respectively have a total of 150 seats up for grabs. In addition to
which, Hi-Tech Rourkela has 100 seats, Institute of Medical Sciences and
Sum Hospital has 100, Hi-Tech Medical College Bhubaneswar has 100, all
of which will be open for admission through NEET. 300 seats for BDS will
also be available through NEET. These include 60 seats at Gandhi Dental
College, 50 at the Institute of Dental Sciences, 100 at Kalinga
Institute of Dental Sciences as well as 20 seats at SCB Dental College,
Cuttack. The counseling for these colleges will be done by the Odisha
joint entrance examination cell.
