ISB buckles up for the biggest placement season ever

Like all B-schools, placement season is one of the most hectic periods for ISB (Indian School of Business). But this year, ISB has the largest batch ever. This year ISB has nearly 770 students to place.
ISB has 570 students in Hyderabad campus and 200 students in Mohali, Chandigarh respectively. The placement process is expected to continue up to March – April 2013.
As per the Dean of ISB, this is the largest batch size in the entire history of ISB and even though the task seems to be challenging, the institute wants to ensure that same level of opportunities are given to the present large batch of students as well as the recruiters.
ISB will integrate its 2 campuses for combined placements. The first and the second day placements will be held at Mohali campus where the shortlisted candidates from Hyderabad campus will also join the group. The rest of the day’s placements will be held on the campus located in Hyderabad where shortlisted students from Mohali will be joining the group.  The whole idea behind this process is to promote the Mohali campus in front of the recruiters.  Though, it is a costly and challenging proposition, the move will help establish the ISB brand.
The career advancement service office of ISB has appointed an expanded group of 12 representatives to work with the industries and firms for finding suitable jobs for the students.
Other than this, the institute is connecting with students to know what kind of industries and companies should be targeted. The institute is also forecasting the type of new jobs emerging in the near future.
To ensure that the placement process is successful, the institute has asked for help from the alumni of management programs, top management and executive education. ISB is looking forward to communicate and increase its value proportion to firms so that more numbers get hired.
