FMS Delhi Concludes Summer Placement 2012-2013

Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi has successfully concluded its summer placement for the class of 2012-2013 with 90 companies, out of which 36 were first-time visitors. Over 170 companies from across the sector confirmed their participation this year and out of which 95 companies participated in the placement process.  90 companies offered internship to the batch of 210 students.
The summer placement at FMS Delhi has been remarkable this year with the highest package of Rs. 5 lakhs for the two-month internships. Over 36 new companies visited the FMS campus this year out of which 40% made final offers.
First time recruiters included Redseer Consulting, ICRA Management Consulting, Morgan Stanley, Raymond, Reliance Industries Limited, Sony, Avigo Capital and Nokia. Avigo Capital selected extensively from FMS for its private equity profile.

Sectoral Break Up:
This year the sales and marketing sector topped in the list with 39% of internships, followed by the finance and consulting sector 29%, general management sector 23%  and IT & other sector 9% respectively.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Banking and Finance Sector:
Despite the unfavorable conditions in the banking and financial firms, FMS managed to successfully place close to a third of the batch in finance profiles across various roles.  For the first time, Morgan Stanley a student of FMS has been selected for the Front End Investment Banking profile
Sales and Marketing Sector:
This year the sales and marketing sector topped the list with 39% internships from being extended   Philips, Godrej Consumer, Coca-Cola, Smithkline Consumer, Raymond, Idea, HT Media, Johnson & Johnson, Sony Entertainment Television, Reckitt Benckiser, Procter & Gamble, Glaxo, Britannia, Madura Fashion & Lifestyle, Nokia, Akzonobel, Hindustan Unilever, Dabur, Airtel, Tata Steel, Adobe, Titan, Heinz, Marico, Asian Paints, ITC, Nestle, Times, Genzyme, Boston Scientific and Sab Miller.
Consulting and General Management Sector:
Close to one fourth of the batch preferred to join consulting/ general management/ strategy aspects across various trusted brands in the industry. TAS (TATA Administrative Services) made 6 offers to continue its legacy relationship with FMS.
IT/Operations/HR Sector:
On the operations front, participation was highlighted by the presence of Asian Paints, Bristlecone, Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages and Valcon Consulting.  All of them hired interns for the first time from FMS Delhi. Flipkart and American Express also hired students for their operations profile. There were lucrative options on the HR front for the students from various companies, which included Michael Page, BASF, Vedanta, GAIL and UTI. IT was marked with the presence of many companies including the likes of TCS, Wipro and Capgemini who also opened their Management Consulting profile.
