CHANDIGARH: To ascertain reality about grass-root level education in government, as well as private schools, the state education department has decided to constitute four teams for inspection and monitoring of education institutions under a pilot project in Haryana.
The education standard in government schools, especially in rural areas has been a cause of concern and latest decision of the department seems a step to improve the situation.
A spokesman of the department said, after carrying out inspections covering one district each, committees of officers would come out with a format for regular and comprehensive inspections to cover all important aspects.
He said that in case of government institutions, the teams would focus on infrastructure, campus condition, especially upkeep, beautification, sanitation, faculty position that is how academic inputs are being provided, implementation of various schemes or programmes under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and utilization of grants.
It would also see whether the head of institution has devised any mechanism for the redressal of grievances of faculty or students. He said in case of private institutions specific reporting would be required to comply with the rules notified under the Haryana School Education Act, 1995.
