Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore (IIM-B)
witnessed around 126 firms extending internship offers to 377 students
of the batch 2012-14. Financial sector hired 27% students, IT industry
12% and management consulting picked up 22% students.
The first time visitors include Accel Partners, Facebook, Merck,
Catamaran Ventures, EBay, Alshaya, Shell, Sony, Uninor and DuPont. The
regular recruiters included Goldman Sachs, The Blackstone Group, JP
Morgan, The Royal Bank of Scotland, Deutsche Bank, Barclays, HSBC,
Nomura, Citigroup, Edelweiss, Rothschild and Standard Chrtered.
Among the management industry, companies visiting the campus include
Deloitte, Booz & Co., AT. Kearney, Alvarez & Marsal, Bain &
Co and Siemens Management Consulting. The institute witnessed a rise in
demand of its students across various sectors. Around 35 students
received international internship offers. About 5 students having over
35 months of experience preferred to opt out of summer placement
process.
