For the first time ever the World Bank has extended 3 summer internship offers to IIM-C (Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta) students. The students have been recruited for the financial instruments and treasury departments.
The process began on November 5 and institute received over 230
internship offers from the recruiters. Consulting firms such as Bain
& Co, BCG and AT Kearney recruited students in big numbers. BCG
emerged as the largest recruiter by extending offers to 12 students. A
total of 43 consulting offers were made to the IIM-C students.
Leading banks such as Merrill Lynch, Bank of America, Nomura and HSBC,
Barclays Capital, Morgan Chase, Credit Suisse, Royal Bank of Scotland,
Rothschild and Standard Chartered visited the institute. Indian firms
such as HUL, ITC, P&G, Kraft Foods, Johnson & Johnson, Nestle,
Dabur, Pepsi Co, Airtel, Asian paints and Nokia also participated in the
summer placement process.
