CHIDAMBARAM: Annamalai University,
which was closed on November 10 for an indefinite period following a
stand-off between the management and employees over a reported plan to
cut jobs and salaries, will reopen on November 21.
Registrar R Meenakshisundaram announced this after the university syndicate on Friday decided to put on hold austerity measures and approach the state government or financial institutions for funds to tide over the crisis. According to the university, classes for medicine, dental, BEd and MEd students and research scholars will begin on November 21.
