BHU to set up campus in Maharashtra

By 2014, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) will set up a campus in Amravati district of Maharashtra. The government of Maharashtra has agreed to provide 200 acres of land for the setting up the university campus.
The proposal for setting up BHU was an initiative taken by the alumni association of BHU Mumbai. During the alumni meet held at Mumbai on March 10th, the proposal was announced and accepted .The leader of the Shiv Sena Uddav Thackery, who was the chief guest on the occasion, praised the initiative taken by the government of Maharashtra for the construction of BHU campus. The campus will essentially be an agricultural college and the formal procedures regarding this are yet to be made.
BHU is also gearing up to create its own visual identity soon. The university’s name will soon be written in definite font, style as well as color and will be formally used by the university’s institutions and faculties as per the sources from BHU. The letterheads, visiting cards, application forms, notice boards and objects bearing the University’s name will have to adhere to the standard format set forth by the BHU.
The faculty, staff and students of the BHU visual arts department will be responsible for designing the way the university’s name will be written. The planning and procedures to make the visual identity a sustainable one is still under thoughts, although the idea is already passed by the university’s academic council.
