Chennai Mathematical Institute Invites Applications for Ph.D Programs

Applications are invited by Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI), Siruseri for admission to Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programs in Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics for the academic year 2013.

Eligibility Criteria for CMI, Siruseri

• For Ph.D in Mathematics Program: Candidates holding B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc.(Math)/M.Sc.(Math) are eligible to apply.
• For Ph.D in Computer Science Program: Candidates holding B.E/B.Tech/M.Sc.(C.S.)/M.C.A are eligible to apply.
• For Ph.D in Physics Program: Candidates holding B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc.(Physics)/M.Sc.(Physics) are eligible to apply.

How to Apply for CMI, Siruseri

• Candidates can apply online by visiting the official website.
• Candidates can request a printed application form, either by post or in person. In either case, there is an application fee of Rs. 600/-.
• Alternatively, you can obtain application forms and information brochures by post. Send a DD for Rs. 600/- in favour of Chennai Mathematical Institute payable at Chennai.

Selection Procedure for CMI, Siruseri

• For Ph.D in Mathematics Program: Candidates can qualify for the interview on the basis of their performance in the written exam in Mathematics conducted by NBHM/CSIR, without writing the CMI entrance examination.
• For Ph.D in Computer Science Program: Candidates can qualify for the interview on the basis of their performance in the Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST-2013) in Theoretical Computer Science, without writing the CMI entrance examination.
• For Ph.D in Physics Program:  Candidates can qualify for the interview on the basis of their performance in the Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST-2013) in Physics without writing the CMI entrance examination. Only candidates within the top 300 ranks will qualify through this category.
