Two students from Indian Institute of Management-B, garnered the coveted job of executive assistant to Mukesh Ambani, during the recent placement drive. 170 applicants applied for the posts out of which 35 were short listed. Only 7 managed to make it to the final round. 23 year olds, Pranay Jain and Surbhi Garg finally got the coveted posts on March 5, 2013.
The two who made the final cut will work in the Mumbai office in close association with Mukesh, chairman of
Reliance IndustriesLimited, along with 13 other members. The team will work in an advisory capacity to the chairman on all strategic decisions, like extending business in a particular sector. The two will work along a 13 member strong team, in an advisory capacity to the Chairman of Reliance Industries, Mr. Mukesh Ambani.
The duo who were batchmates at
BITS-Pilani, are excited at the prospect of working with the panel of experts at Reliance. The interview, which was presided on by two of the core members from the Reliance Industries panel, tested candidates to measure their fitment to the role. They also asked candidates what sectors Reliance should venture into. The selected candidates answer included alternate forms of energy, education and healthcare.
Pranay aspires to take up larger roles in the organization in the future and would like to grow as a part of the team. The other candidate, Surbhi has a very different view of her future. She would like to eventually become a painter. She also revealed that she would like to become a leader, and that she liked the fact that people at Ambani’s level took up and tried solving real time issues.
